Question Free video editing software ?

I have a wildlife video camera that i leave out overnight to film foxes and badgers that visit my garden.
The videos are in 30 second segments and sometimes i get a segment that has been triggered but only has something visible on the last 5 seconds.
All i want to do is cut the empty section off the clips.
Maybe I already have something as part of Windows that I don't know about ?

Avidemux is the simplest to use, it's very small as well.
tips:
If you only cut on i-frames you don't need to re encode the video.
Avidemux shows you what type of frame you are on at the very bottom next to the time.
The double arrows skip to the next i-frame of the video.

Clipchamp is Microsoft's editor so less chance of malware etc
