Freesync on nvidia

Hi there,
I recently purchased a 1080p 144hz monitor which came with freesync but i own an nvidia GPU (GTX 1080 yet to be delivered) will my gpu be able to utilize freesync properly? or is the feature (freesync) a total waste

freesync is limited to AMD GPUs only

Freesync feature is not a "total waste", but it works on AMD graphics cards only. With GTX 1080 it will be unavailable.
Still - with 144Hz screen you probably are not going to miss it. You can use adaptive-vsync setting in Nvidia control panel to eliminate screen tearing effects.

Thank you for the quick response, it seems like i will have to return the monitor and save up for gsync one it makes more sense being patient
