I've owned a Gateway GT5032 for a couple months now and I just got cable hooked up in my room last Friday and started using the tuner. Only thing is after 10-15minutes of TV, live or recorded, the screen freezes and I have to press stop then play for it to play again. Even after that it only works for about 30 seconds before I have to repeate the process. Games work fine so i really don't think it's the integrated graphics.

Anybody got some idea what's wrong?

specs minus the case fans and power supply I added.

Did you check with Gateway's tech support, update all drivers and pray? I had bought a ati tv wonder pro and figured the wonder part of the name has to do with how well it will work this time after it crashed. It was truely a alpha product, as in it shouldn't of even been in beta stages yet. I had everything updated to most recent and well, it just seemed to get worse.

I had the following problems:

fuzzy picture
live tv would only pause the picture the sound would keep going as if it were still live,
It would mute when the program would first start i would have to manually unmute it.
I could not get the thing to work with the tvguide it came with.
Recording scheduled video didn't work.
it would crash constantly

Let's just say it was the buggiest thing I have ever used, I then formated my computer and tried to reinstall everything from scratch, thinking it was me and this thing could not possibly be this bad for real.

Installing nvidia drivers on my system after the os was fresly installed would hose my system/os install. I would have to reinstall it from scratch as it wouldn't boot again. I did this two times in a row before I took the card out through it across the room and proceeded to reinstall windows for a third time. What do you know my system was back to normal after that everything installed without a hitch.

so anyway my rant here is, ati's tv tuners are junk especially the software, you would be better off getting your money back from gateway and go with a hauppauge, i know their tv tuners can't be nearly this bad. Keep in mind I am a big fan of thet video card I have only owned them since radeon 9700 days and now I have a x800.

I heard of this freezing problem from other people, is it possible the live tv is eating up all yoru hard drive space?
