In games (tried multiple, not only 1), sometimes (most of the time after 20 mins of playing) the game would just freeze. Sound would still work. I would only have one tab of reddit and nothing else running (8gb ram). I would sometimes be able to alt-tab, sometimes not, so I often just ctrl-alt-del then access desktop. I would be able see the taskbar at the bottom, as well as start programs, but the almost the entire screen (other then taskbar) would be black. So, I could hover from taskbar to check task manager and speccy (but couldn't find any problems), but would not show up on the screen that is black. I can also close everything from taskbar except for the game I was in. Since I have no idea what this is or how to deal with it, I always re-start my computer. It is annoying having to do this several times a day for a few weeks. I can send specific specs if relevant but I built my pc w/ my father almost a year ago w/ pretty damn good components. Also first time ever on this site nor do I know much about computers, so do not know which category this falls into...

Unfortunately, I closed the tab in order to reach BIOS, but I will run the test again and let you know in around 15 mins

I ran memtest86 for over 20 minutes with no errors. I also checked the SSD with the Kingston SSD Manager tool and everything is normal (no failures, no warnings, overall healthy).

I didn't deactivate or change any windows settings. There is no page file on the SSD drive (C). The page file is setup on my other hard drive (D) as "system managed".

Yeah, the game is on the ssd, and I'm pretty sure it was around 70% done test 9 before we decided to close it.

Sorry, weekdays are really busy but we have a break starting Thursday so we'll try to run the test again then unless we have some time tomorrow or Wednesday

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I ran a complete cycle of memtest w/out problems. If you want me to leave it overnight for a few cycles let me know

My brother also worked on the page file thing, so I will try to play some games tomorrow to see if it worked

Switched video card to old one, happened again. I'll keep you updated with the other components

Do you think this could be directx problem? Cause that would explain why this happens in games but not in prime95, furmark, both benchmark tools I used, memtest, etc.

I don´t think it´s DX.

Is the graphics card installed in the upper PCIe slot (blue)?

Power supply is connected with 8pins in the ATX12V connector of the motherboard and not just 4pins?

All updates of windows 8.1 done?

Firmware of the Kingston SSD up to date? Check with the Kingston Tool, if not done already.

Was windows cloned from another drive to this SSD or was it a fresh install?

Try ddu uninstaller and delete all graphics drivers with it.

Install the up to date chipset drivers for your motherboard:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%208.1%20-%2064

Install the latest graphics drivers for the 750TI:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/113452

install latest audio drivers (2nd download from the Top of the list):
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Check the event viewer of windows and look for critical errors and warnings:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/226084-event-viewer-open-use-windows-7-a.html

eventually try deactivating or using a non aero theme for windows

which antivirus software are you using?

If this doesn´t work, I would reinstall windows and try again.

Ok, thank you! I'll try all this and let you know if it works

Alright, so I used ddu uninstaller and installed the latest graphics drivers. But, I have two problems: I tried the amd chipset driver download, but then got an error 173 (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/KB173.aspx?DID=1380%7C%7C%7C&VID=10DE%7C%7C%7C&CPU=AMD%20FX(tm)-6300%20Six-Core%20Processor&OS=Windows8.1&OSBIT=64&OSLANG=en_US&utm_campaign=rserror&utm_medium=application&utm_source=driver-installer&utm_content=error173%7CIM_ERROR_NO_AMD_HW_FOUND/). Also, the link for the audio drivers isn't working...

Other than that:

The graphics card is in the upper PCIe slot, power support is connected w/ 8 pins, all windows updates are done, ssd firmware is up to date and windows wasn't cloned from another drive to the ssd
