My laptop a ASUS N55SF (i7 2670QM, 8GB DDR3, GT555M) has recently started freezing without any reason, I've now got it to run stable on low power mode and im suspecting that this might be caused because of the temps on either the CPU or GPU cores. I don't know what to do and Window 8 isin't giving any problems either. Another thing is that I'm afraid to open google chrome because I've noticed the times that I ran it on max power and opened (resource hog) Chrome it froze. in Safe mode this doesn't happen.

Thanks

Solution
Real Temp 3.70 , MSI Afterburner - to monitor the temperatures

Reinstall an older working driver .Get rid of some "useful" app/tools .

As last resort - clean installation of Windows but first copy all important files from C: to D:
Been using Open Hardware Monitor, and the core temps on low power run between 50-55 degrees celcius and my GPU between 45-50 degrees celcius, when im on max power anything from the GPU or CPU cores above 65 make it freeze too.
