freezing?

I have an HP with AMD 900mhz processor. Just yesterday it started freezing for about 2-3 seconds every once in a while... maybe every 5-8 minutes. The same thing happened on my Pentium... what causes this and is their any way to fix it??

Whack that mother with a ball-bat. That'll get it's attention...

Other than that, try taking off the case panels and point a housefan at it.

The CPU might be overheating. Make sure the heatsink is mounted properly and the heatsink fan hasn't died. Hard lock ups like you are describing can be associated with overheating.

I installed Weatherbug (latest version) the other day... I disabled it and it hasn't been happening.. Hopefully that was the problem.
