I've got a new gpu, R9 290, and I am using an adapter because my monitor is old VGA-only monitor. Now some of the games I've tried worked completely fine, but when I tried to open Metro 2033 Redux, it went black and said ''Frequency out of range, 67 kHz/60Hz'', and below ''Please set your resolution and frequency to 1280x720 60Hz. I tried setting the frequency, but the only frequency is 60Hz, already set. What do I do?

Haven't seen this one since CRT days when it was common. Its referring to the resolution in your case. The monitor is being told to display a resolution that it doesn't support. The game isn't supporting the resolution you are trying to run at. Have you manually set to 1280 x 720 is Windows display setting?
