Hi I'm having the same problem as mrbeanladen, but don't understand the solution he has found. Can someone help me with it?

See: https://www.box.com/s/5f1i43gknp6pj9ngzgpp for my specs (made with Everest)

Thank you very much in advance, the problem is very very annoying.

Yours,
Pim

It is likely the operating system (Windows 7). To test this, install Linux on a new, small disk partition and boot from that to see if you still have an issue. If Linux runs OK without any stutters, then you don't have a hardware issue. This method of testing is typically much quicker (and cheaper!) than playing around in the BIOS for ages, swapping RAM, getting new PSUs etc. If Linux stutters as well, then you have confirmed a hardware issue.

Did you ever find a solution for the transient Windows 7 pauses?

I have the same problem - new installation of the OS, fully updated. Processor not significantly overclocked, high end Graphics card. The mouse pointer flashing locks, so I know when it's happening and there's no regular periodicity to it. I initially suspected Indexing, but it's the same with that switched off.

Running the PC on Linux - no pausing.

Running the PC with no Firefox, antivirus off, the pausing / temporary 'not responding' continues. It's not my user profile, since the Administrator account I use for minimal desktop gets the same problem. I tried disabling Indexing, but that has no effect either.

Interestingly, there's no noticeable similar effect when I'm gaming on any of the programs, even high use like Tomb Raider 2013 in 3-D and full screen (1920x1080).

Anybody got any ideas?

Hi Mr. Bean Laden (nice nick)

I'm having exactly the same issue.
I'm on troubleshooting time around this problem and hope finding the actual solution (avoiding non-solution-driven workarounds)

Cheers
