Hello

Recently my PC started getting BSOD often. It's always either UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION and lately MEMORY_MANAGEMENT errors too. I associate them with a videogame that I play because they occur either during or after playing, it's called For Honor, but I'm not actually sure if there is a correlation. I couldn't find anybody else with this specific problem which could be linked to the game.

It usually goes like this: the game suddenly starts going very slow, and after waiting a few minutes, the PC crashes with the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION error. Today, I was trying it out again to see if the thing magically fixed itself . The game started getting slow again so I forcefully shut it down via task manager. After a couple of minutes the whole PC started getting slowed down and in the end crashed with the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I'm the computer is beyond help but I still wanna ask you guys if you have any tips or fixes.

I already did some tests I found online. Did sfc /scannow, checked my RAM, temperature of components, scanned harddrive and all the results were okay (except for scanning system files, because it detected that some were corrupted, and also not sure about the temperature).
I also checked through Whocrashed and the two files that were responsible for the crashes were ntoskrnl.exe and ntkrnlmp.exe.

My specs are:
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18363) (18362.19h1_release.190318-1202)
System Manufacturer: HP
System Model: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-00xx
BIOS: F.31 (type: UEFI)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16250MB RAM
Page File: 8463MB used, 21611MB available
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Storage: (C:) SK hynix BC501 HFM256GDJTNG-8310A (238 GB)
and (D:) ST1000DM003-1SB102 (1 TB)
I'd also like to mention that this PC was not built by me but instead was bought off a store.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
I feel its the hdd, I am not sure I would keep using a hdd for long that needs to have fix all run on it. Even if it passes 2 times after. I would think about a new one that has no errors on it.
Perhaps. Earlier today I decided to make a Long Test via SeaTools, the test failed multiple times so I figured the error could be in my hard drive after all. I chose the Fix All option and then did the Long test twice and it didn't fail anymore. It would be great if that fixed my BSOD, but I'm not sure if SeaTools is capable of fixing such problems in the hard drive.

it might be fine, but as all the BSOD are the same and all in virtual memory which can only be 2 things, ram or storage.

1st error above is an I/O error as it was talking...

We can always look at dumps and check

Can you look in c windows/minidump
copy that files to documents
upload the copies from documents to a file sharing web site, and share the link in your thread so we can help fix the problem

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://pastebin.com/4YcMG5Ri

File information:060220-52078-01.dmp (Jun 2 2020 - 17:20:23)
Bugcheck:MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1A)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: MemCompression)
Uptime:2 Day(s), 4 Hour(s), 50 Min(s), and 04 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05991291

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

both sticks match each other so if that is what Calvin means, it doesn't appear to be case
8192MB 2666MHz SK Hynix HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK
8192MB 2666MHz SK Hynix HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK

Since its a HP, I could guess ram came with PC?
Did you run this? https://www8.hp.com/au/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html as it should offer to update drivers.

half the drivers on system are from Kaspersky which makers it hard to see the others in list

there are likely newer versions of this on HP site - Aug 28 2018 - rt640x64.sys - Realtek NICDRV 8169 PCIe GBE Family Controller driver https://www.realtek.com/en/
Might be newer version of this too - Apr 04 2019 - TeeDriverW8x64.sys - Intel Management Engine Interface driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

So this is PC -- HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-00xx
If I search that on Google I get
https://support.hp.com/in-en/driver...ng-690-0000-pc-series/19769765/model/21447498
but it can't be the right one as the chipset drivers are for AMD and you have Intel.

So I blame HP for having models with different chipsets in same family. Although the HP Update assistant should figure it out.

Yes I do use the support assistant and I noticed there were two updates some time ago, I think the ones you mentioned. I actually tried updating them sometime but it always failed and now I realised I had to update the support assistant thanks to you.

I will see if that fixes the problem and will report if a BSOD occurs again.
(before I updated the drivers, one more BSOD occured today around midnight due to Unexpected_store_exception, and then the computer refused to turn on, it just showed the HP logo screen and appeared to be loading forever. I fixed it this morning after numerous attempts of Automatic repair, because at times even the Automatic repair was stuck at a black screen).

And my PC is actually this one

So, after a couple of days it happened again. This time I was only watching a youtube video and suddenly I got a sound loop and the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION. I can't post a dump file because I can't even get into the PC. After the BSOD occured the loading appeared to be stuck so I tried shutting it down and starting it many times to switch into Automatic repair but now even the automatic repairs appear to be stuck. I tried them many times by now and still no results. Im afraid it won't ever launch.

If you can't even get into windows, its not overly healthy

scanned harddrive and all the results were okay (except for scanning system files, because it detected that some were corrupted, and also not sure about the temperature).

How did you scan hard drives?

if you have another PC handy, it probably easier to swap drive into it and test them on a working PC. If you do and suddenly that PC won't work, its a sign its the drive itself.

SK hynix BC501 HFM256GDJTNG-8310A (- I can't find a testing tool for the ssd. You could try this - - https://www.hdsentinel.com/hard_disk_sentinel_trial.php
hdd - Seagate - https://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/downloads/seatools/seatools-win-master/ - there is only one test in software.
there is a bootable tool from seagate - https://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/kb/how-to-use-seatools-bootable-007843en/

I checked through CrystallDiskInfo, both are in a 'Good' condition.

Unfortunately I don't

I can't download Hard Disk sentinel, the download page gives an error so I can't access it.

In SeaTools I did all the tests (except for Long Generic), both SSD and HDD passed all of them.

Try this link, download the Trial version:
Click on the Download link by the folder image.
Thank you.

It says that both disks are in a good condition, the only problem might be is that the SSD is a bit hot (56 degrees celsius). Other than that everything else appears to be fine.

unexpected store exception is always a trap for me. What does store mean... at first I thought it was storage and sometimes it is (and your last error said hardware_disk so its a fair assumption) but I have also seen it be USB drives and its also possible store is the windows driver store (Not where you buy things).

So it seems drives are okay. Had to check for sure

I have installed the latest intel management interface driver a few days ago you directed me to, and you are right about the BIOS, but I checked the changelog and saw that nothing important was fixed in the newest update, so I skipped it. Should I update it to the newest version?

But I can't find a version of it on Intel website for Coffee Lake (your CPU) -
It puzzles me too, I tried to find it a few days ago but no luck.

Ok so I did that, and there are a lot of files, which ones do you need?

It should create a .ZIP file that you can upload. Or a folder that you can Zip up to upload. Zip them all up. It will include log files, system info, and other info about crashes and such. You can review the files before uploading if you like.
