Hi, used media creator through pen drive to create a fresh install of windows. Before getting into setup of windows media creator I got a blue screen. So I go through with installing windows not keeping any files. But it kept old windows files in a seperate folder.

Now the first thing I do is download drivers for my Rx5700xt but it doesnt work and i get error 1603. It tells me to check system files through SFC on command prompt and this goes on to tell me I got corrupt files and unable to repair. What should I do? I used an OEM key so if I try reinstalling windows might not be able to use the same code?

Thanks

Choose a Windows Reset, it'll preserve your files and reinstall a clean Windows on top

I did it again after formatting SSD I want to install windows on and reinstalled. Still same issue. SFC says there's corrupt files it cannot repair. However this time my GPU driver installed.

Gigabyte partner RX5700XT oc card
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD- installed windows on this.

hi king , one of my pc did not come with op on disc even though it was a custom built one , this link is the one somebody gave me to do a media creation.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-10-create-installation-media

Obviously you have to use a spare or somebody elses pc , at some point you will see a prompt that says something like "use on another pc " , that's the option you need , after that just follow what the screens tell you to do.

Note...…. I have made mine but not used it yet so the next bit I am not sure about. I don't know if you need to tap F5 or F8 to get to boot (from usb) menu. Also , I saw one user say he had forgotten to write down his product key. He was told that somewhere during installation there is an option to say " I don't have a key " but please don't quote me on that as I just said I not run my tool.

I used media creator in the first place.. I used my laptop to create it.

Ok I did the DISM restore thing like three times now the SFC doesn't find any errors. No blue screens yet either after fresh install. I also think part of the problem was I didn't format the hard drive I installed windows on and make it into one partition. I appreciate all the help though. :)
