fresh install windows 10, everything is now choppy and laggy

reset my computer with a fresh install of windows 10. updated all my drivers and everything but everything is now lagging and choppy still. got my windows updates, manually checked my drivers. don't really understand why everything is running so choppy now ~.~

Install your motherboard chipset drivers, followed by your gpu drivers, and lastly finish installing the rest of your motherbd drivers.

overheating can be one of the issue.

ill try doing all the drivers in the order you listed. As for it possibly overheating, I don't see it possible being that since it will lag and be choppy even on an 8-bit game like Realm of the mad god on steam. Also, I monitored my temps not long ago for a diff reason before I reset fresh windows 10 and I was never having any problem with choppiness or laggy gameplay.

Hello OP,

I'm having this exact issue right now. Built a new PC last week. Had it running but bootup was weird, so I changed some things which led me to a fresh install of windows 10 home. Now my bootup is fixed but everything is just as you said. Dragging a window across the desktop is an eyesore and the farthest thing from smooth movement. Don't even get me started on how games run now.

Sorry for the rant, long story short things worked on this PC last week until I reinstalled windows and now it's all choppy and unusable. Have you found a solution to your problem?
