Hello,
New person here, but I have ab it of an issue, just built a new computer, as I was way overdue, put everything together, checked components, ran a ram test, everything was peachy, went to install the OS....

Goes through the initial..copying windows files, expanding windows files, applying updates etc etc I get through that, then when the computer reboots, it freezes on starting windows, sometimes will restart, sometimes will blue screen, but more often than not, it just freezes, my BIOS is working perfectly, and the other components show no signs of direct issue.

I've been doing the custom install, no dice...Maybe the Mobo needs a firm update?

Yes... i'm googling your mother board now... did you enable legacy USB support in your Bios for keyboard and mouse?

what is you bios version?... look in you BIOs screen for info...

Also is your bios set for 64-bit operation?

we can start with 1 stick of ram just to verfify if that is the problem and install the rest once we get booted...
they have version 1.2 now... and I see many AMD code revisions now.

There are very few 1600 memory modules verified... with all four installed... Not conclusive... but something to know.

where would i find the version, where would i find its bit setting?
its an MSI clickthrough, new world to me

Hello... you have the latest Bios driver...

your CPU is not verified as compatable... not conclusive but something to know...

How did the the 1 or 2 memory stick test come out? ( please follow my instruction and don't start freakin out... )

Also i'm wondering Did windows ask to format the drive after you partitioned it?... i'm going to boot from my DVD and get your F keys... be right back...

Hey guys,

Just my 2 cents but I had this issue before and at the point Windows try's to boot it goes from using the 2d over to the 3d and fails. In 2 separate cases I found the power connection to the graphics card loose or not connected and another time it was just a bad graphics card but you might think its good because it works in 2d but 3d uses a different processor.

Good point bill... Do you have another graphics card to try in that motherboard to verify?

Yes... there are no F keys active from Boot disk... Am I to understand now that you have successfully installed windows on your harddrive? and that now it hangs?

OR you never get to the Installation Screen? if so still a Bios/hardware problem... try booting without your mouse or keyboard...

Once you get to the installation screen you can op out... after you verify your English... you can then chose the repair/diagnostics menu... test your memory... and also try the BOOT Repair option... that has worked for me a couple times.

Off to bed... Try later...
