I assembled a computer from used but working parts. The system won't boot. It also won't post or even beep at me. If I remove all RAM, it will give me one long beep followed by two short beeps (and repeats that sequence once).

When I turn on the power the case fans and proc fan come on, but nothing else happens.

Here are the parts I am using:
Processor i5 655k (1156)
RAM 1333 (2GBx3) F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ
Nvidia GeForce GTX 470
ASUS P7P55-M

The motherboard is the only untested part (and it was one of the few boards I could find to use with that proc). All the other parts worked the last time they were used.

I have standard drives, but none are currently plugged in.

I'd definitely appreciate any help.

if the above things didnt help .. try the following steps.
(1)power on the pc (it wont boot)
(2)shutdown the system turn of the main power
(3)swap the RAM slots
(4)Power on the system... hope it would work
