Fried Computer, request help!

I am running a PIII 500MHZ. I just installed 128MB of RAM, bringing my total to 192MB, and a 100 MB Internal ZIP Drive. When I was playing DVDs, for the first time ever because they would actually play now with my RAM, the compute just went pop and turned off. When I restarted, it would get past detecting the drives and keyboard and asking me to go into setup, but then my floppy drive light would stay on and my computer would freeze, with the floppy drive light still on. I opened up my computer, disconnected the floppy ribbon from the motherboard, started it up, and after disabling my floppy drive controller it booted into Windows (98SE). Then, I told it to simply shut down, I reconnected everything, and enabled the controller and then it worked perfectly.

For five minutes.

Anywho, I did the same thing again and it worked for a few days. This happenned over and over until it had happenned 6 times. Now, this method will not work, and I have no computer. I tried clearing the BIOS and everything, but it won't work. Please provide assistance immediately.
Oh, and by the way, I'm 13.

So let me get this straight. You trobleshooted this to the Floppy, got it to work, AND THEN PLUGGED THE FLOPPY BACK IN??? AND KEPT DOING IT??? Sorry, but if that is the case, man you really shouldn't have done that. Buy a new floppy drive, they are like $10.

If your comp is fried right now unplug everything but proc, ram, and keyboard. Boot, if proc fan comes on, then add VGA card/monitor. If that gets you to Bios, then HD. If 98 loads, then add ONE component at a time. Starting with mouse, then Floppy (assuming its a new one), then CD-ROM, then sound card, then newtork, then modem, then other PCI.

The first time it quits working during ANY of this process - that's your problem device. There are more complciated and accurate methods of trouble shooting, but this one may work for you.
