I didnt really know where to put this because it involves my HDD, MOBO and windows 10.

I recently fried my mobo and I have ordered a new one. So I have a few questions, with a new mobo, does that mean i need a new copy of windows? i think i read somewhere you can save it to your microsoft account or something like that, is that true?

And, do i need to wipe all my files off my HDD before i install the new mobo? if so how can I do that without a working pc? or can i get away with getting on and just factory resetting everything as soon as i get on?

Solution
No, when you do nothing, just install new mobo, then it will boot to your old Windows

What You Need is a fresh / clean installation, I don't know if Reset PC might help you, but i suggest a clean installation from CD
