Question Friend's old GPU not working on my build

My friend recently just gave me his old GTX 970 but for some reason whenever I try to run a game it wouldn't run.
Here's a crash message from trying to run Stardew Valley on Steam:
No suitable graphics card found.

Could not find a Direct3D device that supports the XNA framework HiDef profile.

Verify that a suitable graphics device is installed

Make sure the desktop is not locked, and that no other application is running in full screen mode.

Avoid running under Remote desktop or as a windows service

Check the display properties to make sure hardware acceleration is set to Full.

I've uninstalled all the past video drivers using DDU on safemode and installed the most recent NVIDIA drivers using Geforce experience. Device manager also recognizes the gtx under Display adapters.

Here's my setup:
CPU: AMD Fx-6300
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
PSU: Corsair 600w

Let me know what other information you guys need.

you are describing missing dependencies.
try installing DirectX and XNA framework from directX

did those things as well, still nothing

Yeah it’s the only card. I also tried plugging the card into the second PCIe slot on my mobo after another DDU wipe and still nothing. Did a mobo BIOS update as well
