From a speed to a control type mouse pad?

So I currently have a "speed" mouse pad and I'm looking to buy a new "control" type mouse pad.
I mostly play FPS games right now and my DPI and sensitivity are fairly low.

Will it take much time to get used to it if I do decide to get a control mouse pad?
Will I feel any huge difference as to my aiming and performance?

There will be more resistance on your mouse on a control type than a speed type but you should get used to this very quickly. In general the more control you have over your mouse will improve your aiming/performance, therefore a "control" mousepad where your mouse doesn't slide everywhere should be better!

I have the Dechanic X-Large CONTROL 18"x16" and I love it. Its a cloth mouse pad with a dot like texture over it. I mostly play overwatch and other fps games with very low DPI and sensitivity. Playing with this mouse mat has improved my aim over time. Just make sure if your playing with low dpi and sens your going to want a pretty large mouse mat. I'm a masters level mcree/soldier main.

Oh I see, thank you for your reply. I always valued control over speed so I didn't really like my old mouse pad (plus because it was a bit too small even though it was extended) so I'll probably be getting one.

Hey I also play Overwatch (Zarya,Soldier main diamond) , I'm going to get an extended one(35 x12") so i think I'll be fine, thanks for the reply it really helped.

I use a large goliathus control edition with a DA 2013 and I primarily play csgo. I grabbed control edition because I've always used slick ss qck+ mats and tbh those slick mats were to fast for me where as once I got the control edition I noticed far more consistency with my aim with control edition.

I don't know why a lot of people say control edition is meant for mobas etc. And speed edition for fps. I myself find the accuracy and control better for fps games so idk why the faster slick speed edition is so preferred for fps I can flick shot just fine slick is just to fast for my liking. And I'm a low sense player (400dpi 1.7 sense) and that with a control edition large mouse mat and a da 2013 is my sweetspot. At least in csgo.

I bought a Rocketfish mousepad years ago and I haven't had any reason to upgrade since then; it's two-sided, one side for control and the other side for speed. I'm almost certain that the exact model I have has probably been discontinued at this point, but they probably still have a similar one available. Mine's a thin piece of aluminum with bonded plastic on both sides; it has four rubber feet on each side. The rubber feet are the one and only real weakness this mousepad has, as the adhesive holding them on is absolute garbage, but I fixed that with a few drops of gorilla glue.
