Front Audio Headphones

I am having a problem with my audio feed through my headphone jack on the front of my case its cming through garbled. I have a GIGABYTE x58-ud3r board and am using a corsair 600t case windows 7 professionsal. Is it the the board ? the wiring harness? the drivers ? what could be causing this ? The standard audio feed is fine from the back i/o panel.

Sounds like (excuse the pun) either the front case audio wire is not connected properly, or the cable is faulty. The software and drivers are no different for the front and rear ports

Tried unplugging and replugging worked for about 2 minutes and went to crap again.
