Front Panel Connector LED problem

when I plug in my front panel io with my motherboard manual the lights do not turn on but when randomly plugging the HDD LED and the Power LED positives into pin 1 and negatives into any other pin it works but it wont work when plugged in the right way

Using pin 1 and pin 2 for power led and pin 3 and 4 for hdd

That is wrong.
Connect power led to #2 and #4;
and hdd led to #1 and #3.
