Hey guys,

I just got my new PC and I wanted to install a USB 3.0 front panel for use with the Oculus Rift sensors.

I can't get the USB to work though. I have another panel with USB 2.0 slots which works fine and the back USB 3.0 works fine as well.
This is what the device manager says (sorry it is partially in german):

This is how it is connected to the mainboard:

This is what the BIOS menu for USB devices looks like:

And this is what the front looks like at the moment:

The one with the usb stick in it, is the one causing problems.

Thank you very much!

Solution

Then I think it is a hardware problem try using a different internal cable between usb port on the case and internal motherboard pins (which you have shown in one of the pics)

I downloaded the latest IntelUSB3.0 drivers from the manufacturers website. But when I run setup.exe, I get an error message telling me that my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I also tried turning on XHCI hands off, but that didn't do anything either.

Thank you very much. Here it is:

  • ■InLine 4x USB 3.0 Frontpanel 3,5"
    ■Gigabyte GA-B250-HD3P Intel B250 So.1151 Dual Channel DDR ATX
    ■Intel Core i7 7700 4x 3.60GHz So.1151
    ■16GB (2x 8192MB) Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2400 DIMM CL16-16-16 Dual Ki
    ■8GB KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16 1xDVI / 1xHDMI 2.0 / 3xDisplayPort
The OS is Windows 10 Pro N 64bit. Let me know if you need to know more.

I use the Oculus App, but it doesn't even recognize the USB stick that I plugged in.

I downloaded the USB troubleshooting utility, but in my case it doesn't detect any problems. I also formatted my SSD and did a clean reinstall of windows and updated it to the latest version. The problem still persists. I will try running the repair tool from the disc though, just to be sure.

EDIT: Windows Repair didn't do anything. Probably because it didn't detect any problems in the first place.
