Hi All

I have an Asus Prime X470-Pro that I recently updated to BIOS version 6210. After a successful update, I rebooted and now get this warning message:

" We detected a new fTPM firmware version/processor, which will change the data/structure of the storage space for firmware TPM.
If you did not apply fTPM function, please press Y to continue.
if you have Bitlocker or encryption enabled via fTPM, please follow instruction below:
Press Y to reset fTPM, please ensure to back up your recovery key, or the system will not boot without a recovery key

Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, but fTPM function will not enable. You can swap back to the previous BIOS/processor to recover TPM related keys and data "

I have just been selecting N to continue the boot process, as I am kind of unsure what may happen if I select Y.
To be fair, the Asus BIOS download page did have a warning about backing up Bitlocker before updating to this BIOS.

I am pretty sure I am not using Bitlocker, but did have fTPM enabled in BIOS before updating to this bios, as it was a requirement when I upgraded to Windows 11.

So, should I check my BIOS first and see if fTPM has been disabled after this BIOS update? Is it okay to select "Y" ?

Thanks everyone

Y is what you go through. I would however go into your OS(like you've done so prior), backup any and/or all mission critical content off of your OS drive in case you're unable to log into your OS/account. That way you can reinstall your OS without fear of losing your data.
