Hello everyone , im trying to find decent speakers perhaps on a stand for my computer . Im kinda old school , in my mind I see something like the old bose 901 series . I am a newbie , and am not even familiar with the z170 inputs . Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thank you .

The Z170-A has a Realtek ALC892 sound chip, not exactly the stuff audiophile dreams are made of, but it's not bad. You have a few options. First is computer speakers. They're shielded to some degree for emi when placing next to other sensitive equipment and they have built-in amplifiers. These plug into analog jacks on the motherboard. A decent 2.1 computer speaker setup can be had for around $100 USD, more or less, depending on your definition of quality. Second, if you have a receiver with optical SPDIF jack, you can run digital sound from the motherboard to it and amplify the signal to your home theater speakers for (up to) 8 channel sound.
