that computer is a joke. Hell, to run crysis at very high on all settings at resolutions from 1280x768 to 1920x1080 requires an GTX 260 core 216 or an HD Radeon 4870.

ANYTHING lower, like the GTX 250 (actually an rebranded 9800gtx+) or whatever, will not get you respectable framerates, or to keep your head above the 30 fps.

Processor must be like, an Core 2 Duo at least, or on the AMD side, a Phenom II.

i dont know if he will ever read this this topic is very old but it was indexed in google so that is how i got here. I'd advise him to indeed go and talk to his local computer store ask them for the best computer they have. with atleast a Phenom II 710 core 2 duo E8xxx. For the graphic card you should atleast have a geforce 9800GTX not the GT
or a radeon 4850. but best to go for either a radeon 4890 or GTX275 those are both worth there premium costs. if you have enough money at hand go and buy it from your local store. if you dont search for an afordable computer at your local dealer and tell him you need a 650watt power supply then order the graphic card elsewere. but it is best to study the hardware you self and buy the parts online because you will save your self hunderds of dollars. you can look at me. im still saving for a new computer for quite some time now but im almost there. my buget is €900 and i will reach that goal before my birthday

I just bought a new gaming machine the guy at the store said it would run crysis just fine but id rather here that from a techy geek on here. my computer has a nVidia Geforce GTS 250 (GPU), Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Processor) "Don't no how to overclock it", GIGABYTE EX58-UD3R (motherboard) "not shure if the mother board makes a difference" and i got a 1680x1050 res 22" screen that i wanna run crysis at 30 fps on ultra high on can it be done?

My computer has a phenom ii x4 955 be, radeon hd 4890, 4gb 1600 ddr3 and I still could only play with no hiccups on the gamer setting at 1920x1200. Crysis is no joke when it comes to pushing a system.

If you want to play at 1920x1200 then the only card that will give you a respectable frame rate is the ATI Radeon HD5870 1Gb, other then that your looking SLI or Crossfire setups. Your also going to need a CPU that can get the most out of a card like that so a Celeron is a no, no. In fact a Celeron is a no no when it comes to just about everything that even remotely demanding.

Umm... Let me see... Anything from nVidia is the best. That's what all the major computer makers are going to now. I would say build your own computer with the most compatable parts. Go to that site. I has one of THE best mother boards. It has 4 DIMM, Max 8 Gb DDR3. But i reconmend that you get a 64-bit os cause of reasons listed on the page. So yeah. Build your own. Get that mother board. Expencive, but the best.

With that amount of money I can build a rig with QUAD 5870's and 920 overclocked to 4Ghz+ and still have some cash left for 3 HUGE LCD monitors... THAT pre-built PC is a joke.......
