I currently have a 1080p 24" asus monitor and just received a 48" 1080p Visio TV for christmas but im having issues with full screen gaming when both are connected to my PC. The monitor is connected via DVI to HDMI (came with monitor) and the TV is connected via HDMI. I have an r9 290 with the latest crimson drivers.
In display settings when set to extended desktop and TV as primary or TV only, Shadow of Mordor launches at a fraction of the TV area and GTA V launches into windowed mode only. Advanced Video settings in SoM says its at 1080p but if i hit apply anyway it goes fullscreen but the TV says the signal is 720p and then shortly after the game automatically switches back to a fraction of the screen area and the TV shows the signal as 1080p again. If i switch to fullscreen in GTA V it will go fullscreen and then change back to windowed after a few seconds.
I have noticed that in display settings the box representing my monitor disappears and reappears periodically although there is no apparent loss of signal on the monitor.
Setting it to mirrored results in smooth playing on the TV but constant tearing on the Monitor.
Any insight as to what may be going on would be greatly appreciated.
