[SOLVED] Fullscreen On Many Games Causes Screen To Darken

Screen brightness fades and darkens to unplayable levels as soon as I try fullscreen
Happens on many different games: Skyrim, Sims 3 and 4, EQ, Kenshi, 7DTD, and more..

I'm on a GTX980 using a 60' Samsung flatscreen TV via HDMI cable.

• I've tried many different resolutions
• Plugged HDMI into all the different available HDMI slots on my TV
• GPU driver is updated regularly
• Tried brightness settings in all games

On Kenshi, I'm able to specify a full screen resolution that is greater than my screen width and darkening doesn't happen.

I was told if anyone could solve this yo guys could! Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

It doesn't hurt to use DDU as a possible solution.
