Question Fun OC time Turned into head scratcher

So I’m OC an old graphics card (Radeon HD 6970)
testing my boost with uningine heaven and I had some idea of what I could do for fun from last I used it.

Almost stock I pulled 46.7 FPS on the benchmark.
After some tweaking (minimal stuff) Got a maximum of 47.5 FPS. Then 47.7.
I hadn’t messed with memory clock yet-

Finally I added 100MHz to my mem clock.
Benchmark FPS should have gone up.
47.4 And a slightly lower benchmark score.

So I upped the voltage a little bit.
And gave her mem clock a healthy boost.
Waited through the benchmark.
47.3

Now I was just annoyed. Not only are my results not getting better, they’re getting worse.

So I gave it a healthy dose of <Mod Edit> masculinity... beefed the volts, maxed the power%, bumped the Mem Clock

And made sure my fan was A’boomin that cold air.

Bench mark FPS 46.6
God help me.

My temps have only Increased from avg. 65° to 69° Might have licked 70° once or twice.

but am I missing something? That’s not hot. It’s not being throttled for temps... Maybe it needs a reboot

After reboot-
Stock voltage was 1.175 v
Now it’s 1.269V
Power limit +50%
Core clock from 880 MHz
to 960 MHz
Mem clock 1375MHz to 1401 MHz

Those Id say are perfectly normal, nothing crazy numbers.

44.9 FPS

Seems the higher I go the lower the numbers.

So I dropped the voltage and MEM clock to stock. Left the core clock at 960
47.2 FPS.

Someone please explain this to me... something must be throttling it. But where? How can I find it? Why did Tom Brady leave the patriots?
