furmark results question.

gtx 770 and furmark for 5min would go longer but wanted to ask this first.

every video i watched said you can overclock till you see artifacts which to me looked like either screen tearing or different colored dots.

i ran this for 5 min and got no artifacts that i could see does this mean i maxed the card out? and yes i havent done memory yet.

to take the definition literally - maxing your system means taking your system to the point it starts crashing/artifacting (this is beyond max) and then dialling it back until it runs stable.

What you have done is merely proved it runs stable at your settings, not maxed it.

If you really want to prove your system you should stress test it for a lot longer than 5 mins. The cpu should be 12-24 hours, I'm not so sure on the graphics card but I personally would expect it to be similar.

thanks for the info i figured something was up so i ran heaven and got a few "drivers have stoped responding and recovered" so i turned it down a bit i thought something was up just cranking the sliders all the way up and it working.

Nvidia has implemented throttling in its GPUs when it detects Furmark and OCCT running. Not sure if you are seeing that in your results, but you might not be getting a true stress load on your GPU.

that would explain y i could go way higher in furmark and run just fine which is fishy already but then insta crash in unique heaven i guess.
