I'm looking to do a rebuild of a Home Theatre PC system I have that's been playing up, replacing the motherboard and CPU. I'm also thinking of adding an 120GB SSD as a boot drive.
The motherboard I've chosen has an M.2 slot so I have choice of going for a 2.5" SATA SSD or for an extra £10 I could get a M.2 SSD. The M.2 slot has more bandwidth so should be faster but if I do buy one, how likely is the M.2 slot to be still in use should I wish to reuse it in a future upgrade? I'm pretty confident SATA is going to be around for quite some time, but the M.2 slot has already superceded the mSATA slot. Do you think this is a valid concern? Which drive would you go for?
