I just got the R9 280A and added it to my system with the FX-6300. I was running benchmarks with 3D mark and got a message that my cpu was holding my graphics card back. Also, I was testing the set up out in world of tanks because it gives an easy fps display and my system is struggling to get over 30 fps on any settings when I know it should be getting higher numbers. If anyone has any helpful opinions as to what my problem is that would be great.

Thank you,

First I would suspect you have VSync on it be the most likely culprit. But you didn't state you have it on, and yes you should be doing a bit better then that I believe.

Let's do some basics first to make sure nothing else is 'getting in the way.

Download Speccy and copy the first tab here to show us your temps

Download Malwarebytes and do a FULL (it is on quick as default) Scan, repeat till system is cleaned.

Remove any Antivirus you have (Microsoft Security Essentials doesn't work, and many whom have Norton keep finding it is interfering with program fully working by blocking different parts) and install either AVAST! or AVG from www.filehippo.com (both FREE and top rated successful protection by two independent labs). Again do...

If I'm not mistaken, WoT is CPU intensive, and also favors Intel. And the more people post on the forum, the more that I'm coming to the conclusion that a 6300 cannot handle a 770/280x. So, I'm going to have to say you're getting a rather large CPU bottleneck, and overclocking will help, but only by a little bit. In the end, it's still going to bottleneck.

Run Windows Update and make sure ALL patches and OPTIONALs (except BING) are installed.

Download and run SlimDrivers to ensure all drivers are up to date.
