Yesterday I was in amd overdrive just checking up on some stuff and it was fine, it displayed 6 cores.Today I went in to amd overdrive and It's only displaying 3 cores?!What is happening why does it not say 6 cores anymore?Could it be because my power supply is to low that I cant run it?

Thanks in advance.

Why does mine say 3 logical processors then and why did it show 6 yesterday but not today?

Yeah I I think I must have done something.how do I check if I have disabled any cores?

While Keith12's comments about the 3 cores with 6 logical processors is correct, Overdrive should still be showing 6 "cores". Check in your BIOS that all 6 cores are enabled.

if you did it through the Bios, the quickest way to return to normal, would be to go back to Bios and 'reset defaults', then boot up, and report back if the 6 cores show/.

Yes, but it should show 6 cores.

Try resetting BIOS.

How do I do this

like i pointed out above. go into the bios and select ' reset bios settings to default' or something along those lines. It pretty obvious once you see it.

How do i do this?

you mean to enter the bios? On most systems, you reboot your system, when the splash screen appears with your motherboard manufacturers logo, you press delete (some people press and hold, others hit it repeatedly). Then you enter the bios. It's like a pre-operating system that controls basic functions of your CPU and motherboard. Sometimes instead of pressing delete, you might have to press F8 or F2, this will be apparent on the logo page i mentioned. but if it's not clear then, look up the manual for your motherboard.

Didnt work and I'm on win 10

Take out the CMOS battery for 30 seconds, that should fix it.

could the reason be I have blown 3 of my logical processors due to heat? 🙁

Processors don't blow up. If any of the cores were actually fried your system wouldn't boot because the whole CPU would be dead.

Could it be because I dont have enough power supply?I got a new fan and it consumes more watts. My 750 watts I just bought got delivered and I'm going to put it in 3 hours.

No. Have you tried taking the CMOS battery out for 30 seconds?

If I take out the cmos battery will it reset lots of stuff in my computer?

It will reset the bios. Your files on your computer will be safe though.

Can you elaborate please?Like what kind of things will reset?

If you had any kind of overclock, for example. If you were fidding around in the bios whatever settings you changed would be reset. Nothing important.

Ok I'll do it in a couple of hours as im doing something right now.So all it will do is reset my bios? All i have to do is take it out for a minute then it just pops right back in?No thermal paste needed? Will I be able to boot my computer up right after I put it back in?
