Hi guys first post, just got a couple of questions.
I've received the FX 6300 and I wanted to overclock and I've followed the guide which is in one of the sticky posts and it is about how to overclock the 6300 to 5ghz. Unfortunately I could not get the 5ghz as the youtube video said but with the 1.4v setting I could only maximum get 4.2ghz because the temps were going too high. Idle was 30C and under load was 65C. However now I've lowered the voltage to 1.3v and the temperatures dropped drastically. Running at 1.3v and 4.2ghz I'm getting 25C idle and 45-47C on load.
So the questions:
1. Should I carry on lowering the voltage and seeing whats the lowest voltage I can get?
or
2. Should I leave the voltage at 1.3v and overclock using only that voltage?
CPU: AMD FX 6300
MB: Asus m5a97 evo r2.0
PSU: OCZ 600w
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.
