hi guys.

So a few days ago i made a post about my cpu getting to hot to fast. all the information of that post you can find here ---> http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2742022/8320-temps-rise-fast.html

There is some important stuff in there but I dont want to type everything again.

Long story short i think my cpu temps rise way to fast. You can find my temps in the other thread.

Basicly I want to do some overclocking on my fx-8320 with an h55 closed loop cooler. But whenever i want to test it with prime95. The temps reach 62 package temps and over 60 cpu temps within seconds). I cant even run the test properly. ( in the other thread i said a few minutes but aparently it is a few seconds. They suggested waiting till the thermal paste has settled in. But I see so many people overclocking right a way and it shouldn't rise this fast even with prime95.

So please check out the other thead for more information. I still think its the thermal paste because the temps rise so fast but idle between 35 and 40.

Hardware:
-Case : Bitfenix Neos. 2 Corsair sp120's intake fans in the front.
-Cooler : Corsair h55 Pushing air out in the back of my case as Push/Pull with 2 Corsair sp120's
-Motherboard : m5a97 evo r2.0
-Gpu : Radeon r7 265
-PSU : Seasonic 600w Bronze

Hope u guys can help me:)

Solution
And next time isntead AIO buy yourself Decent Air cooler 😉
I do not like AIO I have One * I win once and still sitting in sealed box somewhere and covering with dust, waiting when I mange sell it to poor bastard who decide go for water :)

Yeah maybe but this was my first time aplying thermal paste and artic silver 5 had good reviews. What thermal paste do you recommend?

Hm... mistake I cheeked again Arctic Silver 5 do not conduct electricity, although non-conductive paste, the manufacturer does not recommend contact with pins or electrical paths as the relationship because of the slightly capacitive nature can cause problems
You can try reapply this again with bigger amount, or use credited card method, but before you install cooler put tissues on CPU PCB * around IHS, and when after installing excessive amount will flow out and be later remove with handkerchiefs.

Nice Thermal paste test results after 7 days use:

One tube very hot / one tube cold is a sign of a failed/malfunctioning lump /faulty inlet on the return tube/ lack of sufficient coolant and or blockage in the tubes.
While the outlet is likely to be 10c hotter than the inlet on heavy loads the steady flown of water the pump should provide should maintain a reasonably even temp all the way round the aio circuit .

Can you feel the pump (water block) vibrating??
Is it very hot to the touch under load ??

I dont like aio units like the cheap corsairs as you cant remove the tubes to clear blockage/replace coolant.

One tube is cold like its almost not giving off heat just a little. and the other one is just hot under gaming load and under stress test Realy hot. the corsair logo is a bit hot but not like i cant put my fingers on it. but i cant feel it vibrating maybe just a little. only if i put my vingers on the begining of the tubes at the pump then i feel some shaking.

Id be temporarily stealing your stock cooler back off the little brother & trying it mate.
There's no way to troubleshoot the h55 - if the pump is failing then its not going to circulate coolant fast enough.

Out of interest where do you have the pump 3 pin & rad fan 3 pin plugged in on your board??

If voltage is somehow being varied to the pump then its going to be running lower than full speed (with the fx8350 you want it running full speed all the time)

i have the pump on cpu fan header 1. The fan on 2 and the other fan on 3 and the front intakes on 4.
The bios says he pump is running 1500 rpm and i have disabled the cpu fan stuff for controlling the fans.

I orderd a hyper 212 evo because i dont even want to bother with these problems anymore. So i will let u you know here tomorrow if that cooler fixed the problem.

Hey man i just installed the hyper evo 212. at first glance itts looks good. the temps are 5c lower on idle when i started the pc. After using the pc for some youtube and browsing its 40c now. still using internet. and today the ambient temps here are realy high. its damn hot 😛 Note while using youtube when the cpu it stayed 40c sometimes 41c . While with the h55 the temp jumped up from 40 to 45 instantly when i started youtube with normal ambient temps. So at first glance it looks good and it doesn't seem to rise very fast anymore. But i will do some prime95 and gaming testing later while its used normaly for a time and i will let you know :)

Thx for the help.

yeah i will man, I hope this hyper evo is good enough i will see soon 😀
