FX6300 oscilating while video editing

Why is my processor usage oscilating while video editing? It goes from 90 something percent down to 0 percent all the time, then it'll stay more or less at 90 percent for a long time.

Why is that? I'm not doing anything else during the editing on the target HD, all I'm actually doing is watching an hd video during the process.

Did you check the temperatures and what motherboard do you have?

I'll check the temps but it only happens while video editing, I don't think it's the temps.

My motherboard is a Mini-ATX Gigabyte GA-LMT78-S2
