Im curious whether to get a g-sync monitor or not. basically im looking at the asus MG279Q and trying decide if getting the TN version with g-sync would be worth the extra money.
thanks for the help in advance.
system specs:
Gtx 970 4/gb vram
AMD Fx-8350

Solution
Ohhhh... Okay.
Um... Don't like the options at all... Not one bit. Or actually... You don't need GSync. Just get powerful enough hardware to make up for GSync's features.
Don't even consider it.
1) GTX 970 would have a hard time with 2K because of the 3.5GB+.5GB VRAM issue. This is the time where it matters, because games want the troubled .5GB VRAM along with the normal 3.5GB.
2) FX-8320 is already not doing too well in 1080P. Let's just keep it there.

Just hang tight until June, when Zen, Polaris, and Pascal comes out. Then you can upgrade whatever for 2K.

see i more thinking for potential future proofing as well. i know its not realistic to expect to be able to not upgrade again i just want a monitor that would be good for my next upgrades specs
