my specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
Mobo: gigabyte AX370-gaming-k5
RAM: 3000mhz 2x8gb TridentZ RGB
GPU: GIGABYTE 1060 G1 6GB
Monitor: HP Pavilion 60hz

So I was thinking of buying a new monitor with 144hz and 1080p resolution. Since I have a Nvidia card, its recommended for me to buy a monitor with g-sync. But when I discovered Nvidia V-sync has a fastsync setting (Probably old news but I didn't know.) It seemed as my frames did not drop at all.

So what should be my decision?

Since the driver update on Jan. 15th, 2019, Nvidia now allows their GTX 10 and RTX 20 series GPUs to be compatible with AMD FreeSync monitors. FreeSync is not regulated like G-Sync, so there are FreeSync monitors that are very poor quality as far as adaptive sync goes; therefore, Nvidia warns people that it may work, it may work partly, or it may not work at all.

Maybe this could open up your options for a 1080p 144Hz FreeSync monitor. I used this monitor and it works with my Nvidia GPU. Shows up as G-Sync compatible in Nvidia Control Panel.
