What would be the better option?

Buying a GTX 1080 ($750AUD) w/ a 27' 1440p 144hz IPS G-Sync monitor ($890AUD) = $1640
OR
a GTX 1080ti ($1099AUD) w/ a 27' 1440p 144hz TN FreeSync ($550AUD) monitor = $1649

Both roughly add to the same total, but I keep hearing that GSYNC is really insane, so I was wondering whether it'd be better to sacrifice GPU power for a higher quality monitor with G-Sync, or vice versa?

Solution
There's no nifty usefulness in the Freesync monitor since you'd be pairing it with an Nvidia card. You'd not have the ability to use the adaptive sync and thereby, in my opinion, it makes no sense. So, to me, the first option seems the better of the two... unless you'd rather wait a bit longer for the prices to come down a bit more seeing that (supposedly) the next gen of Nvidia cards should be releasing soon.
