Question G-Sync Won't Sync

Hello, I am what some say "Rocking" a 4790K 4.4ghz and an Asus 3060ti and 32 gigs of 1600mhz ram and a 1tb crucial mx 500 ssd. So I went and bought an Asus xg259cm, 240mhz, 24.5" gaming monitor with G-sync compatibility. I've done all the settings in the nv control panel and in windows settings . Now with g-sync enabled I only get 60 fps , pitiful. With no g-sync or v-sync I get 943 fps on quake3 ultra settings. So I have to ask if g-sync is a rip-off or what the hell is wrong here before I return this monitor. Thanks in Advance for any help or insight.

Well I guess by that you believe that there is no work around then ? I admit iv'e tried every concievable configuration with regards to v-sync on or off global fps caps on or off elmb on or off and Just can't get 240fps with g-sync comp mode turned on in the nvidia cp. Heck I can turn on the osd it shows 240fps but second I fire up Q3 it goes straight to 60fps , It's gotta be some software crap to blame here , I'm just out of ideas. Thanks

you can use adaptive sync.
