I was looking to revive my old pc and i was wondering whether my old processor that is a Pentium g2030 will bottleneck the graphics card i was gonna buy that is the gt1030....will it? And which all games i would be able to run on 720p?

Solution
I have Core 2 Quad Q9505 which is a bit slower than your G2030 in single core and bit more powerful in multicore. I can't really say how much of a bottleneck there is gonna be, it REALLY depends on what type of game are you playing. Anyways, I'm really happy with my 1030, in my opinion it is a perfect GPU for around 70 dollars and in my case its enough to play most current games at 900p(1440x900) at medium to high detail 30-40fps and low-medium 60fps (again, really depends on specific game).

You should have even better perfomance with 720p monitor(1.3M pixels at 900p vs 0.92M pixels at 720p)

EDIT: If you want to OC your card and have about 10% of perfomance increase, I would definitely recommend going with one of the 1030s with fan...

BUT, if your goal is to have silent pc, definitely pick low-profile 0db versions.

Happy gaming!

Alright thanks man... I guess there will be a slight bottleneck in some games...i will find it out when i receive the gpu next week..but cpu is a dual core without any hyperthreding...will it be problem in modern games?

Honestly, yes. Games like GTA5 prefer 4 cores and you will see a significant bottleneck in areas with multiple objects, but this is GTA(same goes for Watch Dogs) - open world game. But the funny thing is that even 2017 games still take the advantage of higher clock speed and if you can OC your G2030 you wiil see some increasment.

So, if you are on a tight budget stick with g2030. However, if you have some extra cash i would recommend to replace g2030 by something like i3 3120.

Well, i mostly agree with you, but you can also go with i5 2500/3570. They are still better than any recent Pentium. But, this is just me :). Im kinda into older tech. I recently upgraded my old lga 775 rig, E7200->Q9505(18$), 4gb ddr2 800mhz->8gb ddr2 800mhz(two 2gb sticks for 8$) and the GPU(8600gt->gt 1030 68$). 94$ and i got pretty decent low-budget gaming rig.
You can do the same going with used i5 and getiing HUGE perfomance boost, then stick with 1030 for a half year and get smth like 1050 or even 1050ti early 2018.

EDIT: sorry for bad English, i think i messed up some grammar and structure of the last sentence

Ok, good luck!
Check out Ebay, i think I've seen 2500k for 70 bucks.
And yeah, availability of second hand parts at my place is kinda low too, but if you will search for used cpus twice a day for three weeks( like i did:)) you will definiitely get a great deal.
