G3220 to i5 or i7 or i5 8400 vs ryzen 5 2600

Hey guys,

I am having system with following configuration

Intel pentium G3220
8gb ram
Gigabyte h81 board
Nvidia gtx 1050 2gb

Now my question is to you guys that
Is it worth upgrading pentium to i5 or i7 or should I build a new system if new then r5 2600 or i5 8400?

Please suggest me the best possible solution considering the future.

And my primary usage is gaming and light editing.

i5 (lets say 3570) would certainly be better than what you have now and would be able to cope with 1050. If you want to build new system, count on having better GPU too for best effect.
