I was helping my friend overclock his G3258 and I heard that this processor can overclock with this motherboard. I went to the advanced BIOS settings and I wasn't able to change the voltage or the clock speed of the CPU. I tried disabling and enabling things but I was never able to change the "auto" that the clock and voltage was set to.

I have also tried the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility which also didn't let me unlock the overclocking capabilities..

Edit : I also tried flash updating my BIOS to some "leaked overclockable version"

I'm with dan on this one. First of all its an H81 board so overclocking is very literally disabled and the board isn't designed for it because of that. Secondly its a 50 dollar board, even if it was capable of overclocking without a hacky method and used a z87 chip it still wouldn't be capable of overclocking, its just a cheap board.

Is there still a way to overclock it anyway?

If you wouldn't mind could you tell me how? I can't find anything on google and I need help, I'm on windows 7 on the latest update so I might have screwed myself, but is there anything I can do with the bios to unlock the multiplier? Mines stuck on auto and I've tried everything exept messing with other settings
