G4400 compatible? or should I keep intel pentium G3258

Hi guys i was wondering if the G4400 is compatible with this poor setup

CPU = INTEL PENTIUM G3258 3.0 GHz
MB = MSI H81M-P33
RAM = ?
GPU = PALIT GTX 750 Ti STORMX OC
PSU = CORSAIR VS450 450 WATT
HDD = WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR BLUE 1TB
TOWER = TECWARE INFINITY

If it is compatible which is better G3258 or G4400.
Also help me choose ram that is compatible for the motherboard.

No, it's not compatible. The G3258 uses socket 1150 and the G4400 uses a different socket, 1151

You can put most Haswell CPUs in that motherboard. Why do you want to upgrade? I want to make sure your replacement accomplishes your goal.

That's fair. But I always recommend people overclock before they get rid of their CPU.

Well I would definitely overclock it (make sure to follow a guide your first time and monitor your temps). If you don't mind fiddling with your settings, it's a great exercise in understanding your computer too.

4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 / Core™ i5 / Core™ i3 /Pentium® / Celeron® processors for LGA 1150 socket

Since he g4400 is a LGA1151 socket which means you cannot use the G4400 with your motherboard

I suggest you get a nice i5-4590 for it though, and what I would recommend, it will upgrade your dual core 4mb L2 cache Cpu to Quad core 6mb L2 cache Cpu.

2. the manual reports your memory needs to be;

Memory Support : 2x DDR3 memory slots supporting up to 16GB, Supports DDR3 1600/ 1333/ 1066 MHz
Dual channel memory architecture, Supports non-ECC, un-buffered memory

So 2x8GB DDR3-1600Mhz Ram, I like the HyperX series so I would suggest the HyperX FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB)

Any DDR3 should work. What are you running now? Since it says it supports up to 1600MHz RAM, go with that and enable the XMP profile.

1600MHz CL9 should be the worst that you settle for so I disagree with the $100 1600CL10 kit posted above when you can do better for cheaper. If you want to use this computer for a while (and upgrade the CPU), I suggest one of these three 16GB kits:

All are cheaper and faster than the one posted above.

If you've already got 8GB (2x4GB), and you don't want to spend a dime, keep what you've got and you're probably fine.

If you need a new 8GB (2x4GB) kit as cheaply as possible, I don't see anything for a good price on Newegg right now and I can't recommend them.
