Seem that a lot of people facing the same issue.
Although this is 2011 thread and now is 2015, I facing same problem like yours.
I using GA-870A-UD3 rev 2.0. After using for 5 years, recently I only facing this problem.
So far this 5 years I never add any new hardware or change any setting nor overclocking except add 1 more harddisk only. (that harddisk near 1 year already)
So now I keep facing random bluescreen, some related to memory, some related to display, some related to USB.
When start the pc, it get 3 long beep, sometime I wait a while it may able to pass the POST and continue work.
I had tried changing other vga, other psu and also other ram and ram slot. (change and test 1 thing at 1 time) so I can confirm none of these is the problem.
I suspect 2 things only. 1 is which talked by you all 1 stick of ram stable than 2 stick. (memory controller problem)
Another thing I suspect is northbridge because all of my problem such as display,ram,usb are all related to northbridge.
1 time when I watch youtube, it hang at there, animation stuck at there, usb keyboard/mouse cannot work, but the sound keep playing at there.
I considering changing mobo.
Anyone got answer whether they had successful using 1 stick of ram can let me know. Or anyone go RMA back and they know the problem is mobo/northbridge als can let me know.
