Hello. Bear with me :)
i havnt got my motherboard yet, its comes in 1-2 days but when it does i read i have to update the bios which i have never done since im getting a 8320 fx.
So ive been reading guides on how to update and comes across q flash. from what i have tried to understand is that i download the bios from gigabyte website with the correct rev, put it on a clean usb which has been formatted and put only the one file that was extracted from the bios onto the usb which has a f8 type file. I then reboot and enter bios, then press f8 to enter qflash and then find the file and update. Then i should reboot , load optimized settings and save. Then reboot and reset my bios. I think thats all but i read something to do with messing up raid but i am confused. Sorry for the long post and thanks for all the help.

This is where i read from http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/27576-bios-flashing-how-qflash-guide.html
and whats a @bios?

Solution
RAID is not the default SATA setting. After flashing the BIOS, you wrote "load optimized settings and save". That should be load optimized settings and reset SATA Configuration to RAID and then save.
First off if the bios rev file on the motherboard is too low of a rev the motherboard won't post with the new CPU. Most mb should have a updated bios file if there made withing the lasts three months unless your shipped and old mb that been sitting in a wear house. On the mb bios chip or on the mb itself will be a bios rev sticker. Look on the motherBord CPU guild and see if the bios rev will post your new CPU. If not you need an older CPU to post the mb or ask the mb vendor for a new bios chip.

@BIOS is a utility from Gigabyte for doing BIOS updates. It has some problems, or at least it used to, with botching the update and causing problems (up to and including bricking the board). It runs in Windows and worked for me.

The guide you are looking at is pretty comprehensive.

Gigabyte's guides:
http://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/HowToReflashBIOS.html

I had this board in my last build, and it was like a rock.

so your saying that the place i bought it from (aria) should have updated the motherboard before shipping because i also bought the amd 8320 at the same time. My original question was in that guide, it said after updating using qflash something to do to not mess up raid hdd or something. Thats where i am confused
Ty for al the help
