bought this board and noticed that same boards have only the m-bios chip but not the b-bios chip on boards??considering it is a dual bios board i thought i would query this
i stumbled across this scenario by accident doing my research

on the newer mb to save cost they can use one removable ram chip. this chip with the right programing can have two bios files on it. the main and backup bios. that why on some of the newer mb now you have to run bios updates twice to flash both bios partion.

the point i was making/illustrating was how can joe bloggs buy a ga h81m-d2v motherboard with 2 bios chips on board, when fred's board which is also a ga h81m-d2v only has m-bios.i dare you to google this and then give me the perfect answer, because gigabyte won't tell you that's for sure

Is your "dual-bios" issue solved yet?
I have an answer (nothing perfect, coz I'm not a GOD).

First, you need to download this:
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-h81m-d2v_e.pdf
Open it with your PDF reader.
Second: Open page 4, 5, and 8.
Third: Read and examine carefully. Repeat if needed.
Fourth: You'll find that your motherboard has two BIOS chip that act as primary and backup ROM.

Who said that GIGABYTE won't tell us?
You just need to read your motherboard manual.

right lets clear things up
on ebay right now there are 2 ga h81m-d2v mobo for sale------both with only 1 bios chip on board
but you ask this board has two normally-mine does, even though it's knackered

i know how to download a manual when i need one, that's the first thing i do before buying any board lol

Sometimes picture posted by seller doesn't represents the real motherboard you want to buy. they are just for reference.
But, if you're unsure for the BIOS chip, go search for another H81 motherboard.
