I don't even know what you mean by double loads. The splashscreen comes up 1st time, then blank screen & splashscreen again? Not abnormal if windows goes to desktop/logon, depending on the config.

yeah what im saying is that the bar loads 2 times which makes it longer to load...the part with the windows loading bar
like its suppose to finish loading the first time but then it loads again the 2nd time

When the keyboard lights flashes once, it means the mobo is booting up normally. Otherwise, something is wrong with the mobo & it's not even checking the keyboard. There may be a short beep if a speaker is hooked up to the pc. It means ok.

So you're saying the bar animation is shown twice, but the windows logo/whatever on top is there the whole time? It's normal, depending on the config. Mine shows 3 times+.

Like I said, if you can log on to windows, don't worry about it.

sounds like speedlingz is complaining because his Windows 3-piece loading bar (the blue bar [XP Pro, or Pro/Home w/ SP2] at the "Windows XP" loading screen) is scrolling twice instead of going through once and stopping...

Speedlingz, this is normal activity... it's not that your computer is taking longer to load, it's that windows is a large program and is taking a while to load the drivers and startup software...

if you want to speed up the load time, get a faster harddrive

Also, when complaining about your system, please make sure to post system specs for more precise assistance :D

ah yes, sounds like you're talking about the 3-piece blue loading bar, especially now that you mention an upgrade on XP to SP2... it's normal activity... try a boot optimizer/defrag program like Disk Keeper... good luck!

Well lets see.....once you say it looks like it loads 2 times(Loading.....blank.....loading.....login)...this sound like the way windows initializes the video card on boot(it does vary....mine is last so its blank then login....)....the keyboard will go off.....then on when windows initializes it. During boot both my KB and mouse go off for a second or 2 then come back.

You will also notice that your first boots are always faster as there is less running. No drivers(well less),virus scanner ect.... It is normal for a boot to slow down somewhat after all drivers and apps are installed....You can minimize this by having less software that runs with the computer.

What you describe does sound normal. As long as its fast and in windows what does an extra 10-15 seconds matter(if its ever that...i am guessing this on what you describe)
