GA7VAXP problems

okay, I just got a new motherboard, processor and memory. everything is up and running except that the audio driver has yet to install properly for the onboard sound. I have tried a few things, unistalling, reinstalling, getting the latest drivers off the web, etc. Anyone know what I could try?

Far as I can tell, Gigabyte doesn't have much of a track record for producing good sound drivers. (Just ask them about the CT5880 fiasco where the sound drivers were BSODing systems, finally solved it by installing MSI drivers on the gigabyte boards )

I'd head for <A HREF="http:// http://www.realtek.com.tw/" target="_new">http:// http://www.realtek.com.tw/</A> and try the sound chip manufacturer's drivers.

Also... when you installed this motherboard did you re-load your OS? It's usually a good idea since the chipset is only detected during installation.

well, I'll try their drivers, and yes, I did reinstall windows.

well, I managed to solve the problem by reinstalling windows again and installing the codec from the realtech website before installing the actual drivers for the onboard sound.

i installed on one of these boards last week. the only issue i had with it was when i installed the wrong raid drivers (sata) for the ide ones and couldnt get back into windows and had to reinstall 🙁

after putting the right drivers in it all works fine. no issues at all except for when using ati's MMC. the audio stays on 6 channel until i click on 2 channels then the audio kicks in.
