Question Gainward Phantom RTX 4090 Fan Whine

Whenever this GPU's fans automatically kick in at low speeds on light loads they make an annoying whine noise, it's as if they are in limbo and can't decide to be on or off.

I have tried manually setting the fans to stay at the lowest option available in the software of 30% using GPU Tweak III but at this level the fans do their whine noise.

If I set it to stay at 40% or above the whine miraculously stops however the fans are then getting a bit loud.

The GPU rarely goes above 65°C at the annoying 30% speed, is there no way of brute forcing the GPU fans to stay permanently off?

Maybe see if reaching out Gainward support results them in shipping out replacement fans for your card, without the need to RMA them.

Just to reiterate, did you verify this isn't coil whine and a whine from the fan's motor/housing?

Agreed. You may be experiencing coil whine. I had that with my 7900xtx on assassins creed mirage for example. When I turned down some of the sharpening settings and limited fps through the driver that helped it. So you might play around with settings.
