story dudes, how's it hangin'??

quick question, can anyone give me any info on the quality of "galaxy" hardware. i'm specifically looking at an AGP 6800gt (not for myself). did a forum search and scottchen reckons they are about average but that was all i could find, was just hoping to get a few more words on them from the rest of ye.

the price is very temting but if it a thumbs down brand then there's no real point.

nice one...

i have a galaxy card there 6800 series is quality and a good OC`er.

But be warned the customer service is sh1t buy at own risk. try contacting them that will tell you about there after sales support we have had a lot of complaints that no one can contact galaxy or they never respond back.

morning gents, nope, can't find a link to a web site anywhere. like i said, the card isn't for me. it's for a pal with a dell system. somehow, dell have managed to get away with building a new "high spec" computer('bout 10months old) with an FX5200 gc! WTF!! i was putting that card in machines as a budget option 3-4 years ago.

result? vinnie goes off and gets farcry and hl2 and wonders why they run sh*te.

so i've prescribed a decent gc and some proper ram - it doesn't need to be oc'able or particularly quiet, it just needs to work to a standard that he finds acceptable and considering he's never had any complaints about his current gc, those standards ain't too high.

cheers rx, and i'll consider myself well advised on the "generic" issue too. ta muchly gents, a pleasure as always.

Hey FX5200 or X300se is right up a high end Dell's alley. You have to pick the upgrade yourself. Don't pick it, then enjoy the bargain. But at least you get an AGP or PCI-e slot unlike the lower end disposable Dell's.
