Lately I've had weird issues with games crashing and I'm at a loss for what could be the problem. My drivers are all updated, but for some reason, prolonged game sessions almost assuredly have at least one crash with varying degrees of oddness. I had a long post typed up explaining things in greater detail, but when I went to grab my DxDiag for reference, Microsoft Edge decided to abruptly close/crash itself, and when I opened it, I was greeted with the "Create a new thread" page with all fields blank, and I forget most of what I typed. But here's the major details.
1. Games crash in different ways. Sometimes I get the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered successfully" message, which results in my game closing (this has been the case with Fallout 4 today). Battlefield 4 tends to get the "DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" message a lot. I was playing Spec Ops: The Line a few days ago, and it had the most odd issue of them all in that the screen would suddenly go black for a bit, but then the game would return, but with awful screen-tearing and bad framerate that wasn't reflected in the FPS counter from Nvidia Shadowplay. These aren't the only games that crash, but they're the most recent examples I can think of.
2. For the overwhelming majority of crashes, audio will stop playing from my television. I have a Vizio television, designated M220VA-4 in the sound menu. But following nearly every crash, audio doesn't work with it. This is fixed by changing the default playback device to an option that didn't exist prior to the crash: M220VA-0. Audio will then work as normal. This is the most consistent symptom across the board. Other audio devices are not affected.
3. Nvidia Shadowplay sometimes doesn't work following a crash, whether or not I turn it off and back on again. Sometimes it does work, though.
4. After the initial crash, a second crash is less likely, it seems. In the Battlefield 4 issue, it seems that the game would crash within a single multiplayer match, but following the first crash, you could play for hours with no issues.
There might have been some other details I'm forgetting, but those are the most prominent.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.
