Recently my game crash in a weird way I never seen before. Display will suddenly go gray. Sometimes brown-ish if the last cut of the game has lots of brown.
The sound turns into electronic robotic kind of sound. Its like the sound of a dial-up. Very much like this minus the sandstorm noise https://youtu.be/gsNaR6FRuO0?t=13

It usually continues until I force shutdown with the power button.
Sometimes after a few seconds it comes back to my desktop with graphics driver crashing, or game not responding. I have more chance of this if I quickly Alt-Tab or Ctl-Alt-Del as soon as the display goes gray.

I really dont have a clue except that in Dying light it didnt happen so far when VSync is turned on. Haven't tried it in other games as it lags too much with it.

Win8.1 64bit
i7-4771
780 GTX

tried a couple graphics driver new and old. same crashes.

Sounds like either Graphics card issue or the drivers itself, try doing a clean install of the drivers on your graphics card. What PSU do you have and how old is it?

I clean installed the driver yesterday to an older version. It still crashed after that.
PSU is SeaSonic SSR-650RM and almost 2 years old.

Does it only do it under load? Like gaming.

Yes only under load.
btw, it turns out the weird sound happens when sound was playing when it crash. I was just testing with FurMark and it went gray screen of death but no sound. Also, one time the screen went fuzzy, then dark after I exit Furmark.

Sounds lke maybe your gpu is either dying or not getting enough power, what gpu are you using?

Luckily it turns out to be my RAM. Memtest gave me error with xmp enabled. It didnt when xmp disabled but still crashed my pc. Switched out with a new RAM and no more crashes.

Thanks everyone.
